MORE THAN A CENTURY OF HISTORY

The history of Durametal begins in 1855, in Fortaleza, with the establishment of Fundição Cearense, considered the oldest active foundry in the country, according to ABIFA (Brazilian Foundry Association).
In 1977, Metaneide, an auto parts company that manufactured brake drums, was acquired. In 1992, exports began, starting with Chile and continuing on to 18 more countries, with the United States and Canada as the main markets.
After decades of vast accumulated experience and total consolidation in the industrial sector, the company, which was still called Metaneide, decided to move its headquarters to the Industrial District of Maracanaú/CE and became the brand that would chart its path towards the future.
Thus, in 1996, Durametal was created, with products manufactured on automated equipment, designed with cutting-edge industrial design, for modern industrial plants.
Durametal brake drums, brake discs and wheel hubs meet the strictest specifications required by the domestic aftermarket, automakers and international market segments, which earned the company certification by ISO 9001, ISO TS 16949 and ISO standards 14001. It is a difference achieved thanks to constant investments in training, quality and technology, making Durametal products a reference throughout the world.
